OS: macOS 14

Description Evgenii 2023-09-28 03:38:28 PDT
Safari's share extensions across devices does not work properly.

There is possibility that ghost extension that installed nowhere can be present in the list.

Steps to reproduce:

0) Switch on option "Share Across Devices" in Safari browser settings
1) Install any plugin
2) Restore MacOS with recovery tools
3) Get into recovered system
4) Open Safari and check list of synced plugins
5) There will be synced plugin that is impossible to delete

Below safari manual that says it can be deleted form the device where it is installed:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203051

But... there is no device where it is installed anymore, so it cannot be deleted

Thank you for the report. Since this is about Safari and not WebKit, could you please file it via https://feedbackassistant.apple.com for Apple engineers working on Safari to take a look?

I could also move it myself, but then Apple wouldn't have a line of communication with you.

Hi!
Thanks for the prompt reply. Actually, I have been in contact with apple customer service. Looks like the problem is not related neither WebKit nor Safari. Most probably it is Apple ID problem and its synchronization.
So will be waiting for Apple Customer Service response. I hope they do not consider this issue as feature.
Thanks!
