Attachment shows a screenshot of me when I select all using the shortcut [CMD + A]. It selects more elements than it should, as it selects seemingly random html elements and not just text.

The select all (CMD + A) on safari selects more than just text. It selects random html elements as well, and overall, looks unappealing.

I think it is intended behavior of 'ungapped' selection, which is due to macOS system behavior. Unless if I am missing something?

@Alan & @Karl - anything from your side?

I think the report is about the large area being highlighted compared to Firefox and Chrome.
Hmm I don't have an answer on the why it is like it is.

as Ahmad said, standard macOS behavior where line and block gaps are also painted selected.
